the dearer the printer, the better it is, which also means the dearer it is the more expensive the ink will be for it. epson is usually the dearest printer, they are the best make. not always the easiest to use though.
It depends how much printing you plan to do. with the likes of epson it's directed towards people who want the printer to shoot out hundreds of pages each minute. for home use You can still get a good enough printer, whereas the ink for it isn't too dear. I have a basic cannon printer, and the ink is reasonable enough. Lemark makes good printers, aren't too dear to buy and the ink is cheap enough.
A cheap laser printer is what you want to buy, it prints pages out fast, an inkjet printer is if you don't plan to print alot in a short space of time.
