MM Links Solutions December 2007 [Week 1]

This first week of the reign of Queen Kay the Petrified began with just a little panic due to AB having a minor glitch at the crucial time. Not to be denied, Kay launched a second offensive and we ended up with two for the price of one! Bearing in mind that this was Kay's first attempt at "Cut & Paste", she did remarkably well!

To the business in hand! I can now reveal that her chosen Link Words were:

Boat HOUSE (or HOUSE Boat)
Boot CAMP
Car SEAT
Iron DUKE

This proved quite a healthy week for points, although no-one managed to get more than one "hit".

In the early flurry of activity, those emerging from the Shrubbery got their just rewards. It fell to pauline as Entrant #1 to spot BOOT CAMP and (one minute later) the prodigal AllyLally (as Entrant #6) claimed BOAT HOUSE to pick up the second set of bonus Points. These were followed seconds later by slaney & FoxLee who each echoed one of the earlier links to claim their TWO POINTS. Note that bridgenut�s HOUSE BOAT was deemed equally valid ~ although too late to grab both points!

Next came BigMac at 9.21 (as Entrant #21) to present another interesting dilemma by offering Iron Chancellor and asking �can I have Iron Duke as well�? The strict answer to his question is �No ~ Only one guess per person�! HOWEVER, since �Chancellor� has 9 letters and is therefore invalid, he CAN have IRON DUKE �instead of�! In the very next minute Strix jumped in with the very same IRON DUKE, so both qualify for the TWO POINTS.

Single hits trickled through until mid-afternoon 08, when in came the customary late bid from Shazza to carry off the last scalp (and not for the first time) and claim the last TWO POINTS for the innocent-looking CAR SEAT! Not to be outdone, Chris Hewat also managed to pick up one point with �Boot Camp�.

With points scattered far and wide, I usually select the person who picked out the last, elusive Link Word. This makes Shazza �HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK�.

That was an entertaining first themed game from Queen Kay the Unflappable; and this is crofter signing off for another week, oiling his abacus and looking forward to seeing how next week goes in the MM Link Game!

I'm not reading you at all, Queen Kay! None of your choices were even on my short list - before I start crossing off those already taken by someone else! Will have to try harder to tune in next week, but thanks for the challenge! And yet again, Crofter, you and your abacus didn't have to work very hard on my behalf - but just wait till next week.

A quiet twoo from this twit but I see from your records I sneaked a 2 for Iron Duke but seem to be missing from the League Table.
