Our purpose in life
Assuming there was a creator (many people think not) what would have been the purpose for our existance?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.The way i see it is that there is no supreme being...Science proves in fact the origin of our species....This earth was here millions of years before us and shall be after we are gone....Religions,gods etc were created because many people cant accept the fact that when we die,thats it..the be all end all..So faith is invented so we strive to better our living years to reach a place( Heaven,Although ive allready taken a few ladies there in my time allready..lol..ooh me big head) where there is no proof that it exsists....dont get me wrong,our family lost a 5 year old son,it broke our hearts and my faith forever,i wish there was a place in the afterlife where i can hug him,tell him i love him and that i have missed him...unfortunately..common sense and the current state of life makes me beg to differ....
I agree with China Doll that the purpose of life is to keep the species going. The fact of survival when only the strongest sperm get to the egg; the survival of the fittest, etc. But this supposes there is an end game where it could be put to use. We grow vegetables from seeds so that they can be fed and watered for our consumption.
If there is a god I can only believe that humans are being put to use so that HIS planet is better protected and nourished. If this theory is correct global warming and the likely destruction of the planet will be corrected because he will not sit back and do nothing.
