Am quite surprised at a response I had earlier. And would just like to know if you needed blood would you refuse it if you knew it came from a homosexual?

Absolutely refuse, I don't want a turdpunchers blood in my veins.

I'm not against homosexuals what people do is there own business.
I just don't want there blood i also wouldn't want the blood of many straight people if i had the choice.

I believe the blood transfusion service set their policies after careful study of statistics, not by any prejudice.

Their advice does include the follow which would cover many people who have had heterosexual one night stands:




You should not give blood for 12 months after sex with:

1 A man who has had sex with another man (if you're a female).
2 A prostitute.
3 Anyone who has ever injected themselves with drugs.
4 Anyone with haemophilia or a related blood clotting disorder who has received clotting factor concentrates.
5 Anyone of any race who has been sexually active in parts of the world where AIDS/HIV is very common. This includes countries in Africa.

Please do not give blood if you even think that you need a test for HIV or hepatitis, or if you had sex in the past year with someone you think may be HIV or hepatitis positive.

You will note I have not said anything anti-gay, because I am not.

That said, i was refused when i tried to donate blood because (and i promise I'm not making this up - you couldn't!) I had hay fever.

For the record, if it was my family member dying for want of a kidney, I'd take it from any source.
