Whirring noise

I have a 5 year old Seat Ibiza. Have had no problems at all with it and all of a sudden when I drive it makes an awful whirring / squeeling noise. It sounds as if it is coming from the back wheels and gets louder and faster when I acclerate or go above 40 mph. Any ideas and also how much will it cost me to repair?? TIA

sounds like wheel bearings 2 me dont think that expensive
