Just been watching the Money Programme on counterfeit goods, they featured an eBay seller (x40msj) who has been selling fake Timberland Boots. Although still on eBay and had many sales in only five months, he has nothing for sale at the moment (what a surprise!). However, I would fully expect this person to pop up again with a different name - is there any way to spot this?

Hi HelpfulHarry!

I think if you change your name on eBay, then it comes up with a little logo next to your new name to say that your name has been changed. Hopefully someone who knows more will know for sure. Daffi x
But if he has any 'sense' he will start an entirely new id.

Fakes on eBay are a minefield - and it's not just 'expensive' branded goods that are a problem - it is rife in cosmetics too.

Very difficult to tell, unless the item is ridiculously cheap. If it is much the same price as shop price, buy from a shop.
