Ive recently started using the pill 'Dianette'. It sounds silly but i think i missed one pill and im using it for contraception. I finished my 21 pills on saturday and its now tuesday and i've still not come on my period. does this mean im pregnant? im so scared and really need to know if im just being paranoid.
one good way to find out is to take a pregnancy test. Avalailable in chemists and supermarkets, no need to be embaressed about buying one and Savers chemist sell them for about 2
Of course if this is your first month of taking the pill it may mean that youre not due yet and have still to settle into a routine.
Have you considered using condoms as well as the pill, that way you are doubly portected against unwanted pregnancy and also protected against STIs too
if you just started using new pills, it can afffect the accurate period date. after you missed the first pill, as long as you took the next one within 12 hours, it won't be problem. however if you are really worrying, you can speak to you gp and ask for a test.
If there is the slightest chance you are pregnant then stop taking Dianette immediately. With this particular pill there is a moderate risk of a male foetus becoming feminised. I was on Dianette(for acne as well as contraception) for several years and was constantly reminded by my GP of this fact.
just to say when i was on the pill, and i was for 10 year, when i came off say on a saturday for example, i sometimes wouldnt come on until the wednesday, and if you have missed one or started a new brand your body just takes a while to adjust sometimes.
I wouldnt worry, but like the advice given, maybe stop the pill until you find out for certain.
I agree it's probably just your body getting used to the new pill. Just to put your mind at rest though, with the types of pill around now, it is very very (almost impossible) difficult to get pregnant from just missing one.
Years ago missing one was enough to enable you to get pregnant but they've since been changed to cover the chance that you may miss one and the levels of hormones in your body should be able to stay high enough to cover you missing one.
