Confusion over Dr's Advice

About 8 years ago, I was diagnosed with having Fibroids, when I was etting constant bleeding. I was put on the pill without any breaks for about 5 years, and since starting to have periods again, bleeding has returned to normal. I am now having trouble conceiving, and although my Dr said the fibroids won't affect fertility, every website I look at says fibroids prevent implantation! I'm now confused.

Also, I just had a load of hormone blood tests, which all came back okay, so does this mean the fibroids aren't there anymore????

i would have thought that the hormone blood tests were just to see if you were ovulation (were they on the first day of your cycle then 14 days later?)
if so this will have nothing to do with the fibroids.
I always thought that fibroid could affect your ability to conceive, but i am by no means an expert. If you are having trouble conceiving, you might ask to be referred to a fertility specialist, but be warned, in most areas of the country it will be seen as a low priority.

Thanks bednobs. I am reluctant to go back to the Dr as she always makes me feel like I'm a time waster. It always worries me that I always have to remind her about my fibroids, then she dismisses them, and I don't think she reads my notes before I've been there! I had the blood tests a few days after my last period.

You are entitled to ask to see another doctor scoobysoo. You really do need to talk about this problem and get it sorted out properly in your mind. It's dreadful that some doctors can make you feel you are a nuisance. I think you should ask to be referred to a specialist as suggested by
bednobs.
