My dog sleeps in my bed
33 Answers
When its cold he nudges his little nose at the quilt and either me or Mr Poison lifts the cover and lets him in!
btw I don't care for those who will rattle on about how unhygenic this is!
Does anyone else's pets sleep in their owners beds?

Not necessarily for hygeine reasons, more that they're just plain annoying; Jez has a habit of sleeping right next to your head and purring like a motorbike in your ear at 3am or nibbling your ear lobes, elbows, fingers or anything else that might be sticking out of the quilt, and Raff likes toe chasing and nibbling throughout the night. Usually they sleep outside the bedroom door, and all three sit in a triangle waiting for me to get up and give them their breakfast :-)
Our dogs have never slept in the bed but that's just our choice, I don't think I'd mind personally and the kids would love it but my husbands not keen on the idea.
My brother won't let their dog in the bedroom but his wife does so he creeps up in the night and then goes back downstairs again 10 minutes before my brothers alarm goes off - she says it's comical how he knows when to go but my brothers never spotted him yet!

Absolute rubbish about catching anything. If you live that close to an animal you would get it anyway if they had something infectious. The companionship and pleasure pets bring far outweighs any health issues. Provided pets are regularly wormed and groomed then there are no health issues, and as for infectious diseases, what can a human catch from an animal?
My dog sleeps with me and she asks first. Usually on top of the duvet but then throughout the night when it gets cold she asks if she can come under. She asks in the way that dogs do, a stare, maybe a nudge, maybe a very little whine.
The only thing which concerns me is the hairs as sometimes thye can be like little pins. But hygene? She smells less than my ex and I donlt know anyone who has died from sleeping with their pet.

Yup,Dizzy likes snuggling under the duvet, but eventually she stomps onto the pillow "dies" round or (preferably) on my head, then wakes me up by purring LOUDLY in my ear! If i dare to talk to her,she puts her paws on my mouth and purrs louder as if to say"shut up,i'm trying to sleep"
oh and the dog shares my half of the bed as well.

My gorgeous boy 'Jarvis' shares our bed, or should i say we share his bed. At first he is on the end curled up in a ball...........by morning he is spread out across the king size bed and i am balanced on the edge, a talent i have perfected over the last 17 months. I swear i could now sleep on a wall. (its no wonder my back aches sometimes)
The other morning he snuggled onto the pillow and rested his chin on my neck (i was sleeping on my side). If i get out to go to the Loo through the night i come back and he is laying where i have just got up from.
As soon as the other half wakes up in a morning and does the usual grunt and stretch Jarvis just dives on him and tries to lick him and stands on his chest looking down like some mountain goat up high on a rock.
In the morning when i dry my hair, he sits with me and snuggles up (even though he hates the hair dryer).
