Does anyone know if I can enlarge my laptop screen by adding a monitor to it. I play a lot of games on line and am finding my 15inch screen rather small. It is a sony laptop which I have had for about 18months so really do not want to upgrade it at the moment.

Thanks

Most if not all laptops have a serial connection on the back (just like you would have on a tower.)
The only difference would be how to switch it onto the extra monitor, normally its a case or pressing the (FN) button and F8 or F5 button depending on your make of laptop. i can link my laptop to my 42" plasma tv no worries, for details of how to check how to switch it on/off check the manual or search the makers website for a manual.
Hardly any laptops have a serial port anymore that is irrelevant. They nearly always do have a video port that can accept an external monitor.

You generally have to change some settings in the graphics hardware to turn it on. On most laptops you will get a copy of the builtin monitor rather than an extension.
Of course laptops have serial ports. Serial is another definition for the VGA socket , how else would we be able to connect them to projectors?
