I just read about this German lorry driver who escaped a rap for driving while using a mobile phone - after claiming he was using it as an ear warmer. Can you believe he got away with that?! The court accepted his claims that he had been using the phone which was warm after being recharged to warm his ears. He said he had earache and it was being made worse because the lorry hadn't heated up yet - it takes a while on a big rig. I'm wondering why didn't he stop at the side of the road. Have you got off with something by using a lame excuse?
