I'm starting to eat quorn but don't know much about it. Could any of you quorn eaters recommend their favorite products or give me some recipe ideas as to what do to with it? Eg can you just treat the mince like beef mince and make it into spag bol etc?

Quorn mince I use to make spag bol, chilli, lasagne - basically anything you can do with mince.

The quorn chicken style pieces I make curry with, the cooked 'meats' just take like normal sandwich meat, the sausages are nice but have a different texture so you know they aren't 'real' sausages.

I find the mince a bit dry unless its in a thick sauce or gravy. I use the sausages in all sorts. Personally I like the sausages texture they don't fall apart on a BBQ. My partner likes the southern fried burgers.

When quorn first came out (early 90's I think) they did a great pie. I often served this to friends who believed it was meat. The pies havn't been sold for some time, same.
try the fillets with sun dried toms or crack black pepper on. they sell them in my tesco, which is a big one. and they go in the microwave for a few minutes! i personally dont really like the 'chicken' or the sunday joint thing that they do but the fillets are great! try iceland for cheap quorn!
I also like the Southern burgers...and the chicken pieces are great for stirfrys, I don't care too much for the fillets with tomatoe...but any of the cheesy escallops are good.
Richard, here are some Quorn pies!

This is off the Tesco website.

My fave Quorn thing is the swedish-style balls you can get from the frozen section. Just cook them in the oven for 20 mins on 200 degrees and add them to whatever recipe you are making- usually bolognese, but you can add them to anything.
I use Quorn pieces in stirfries and curries- I made a really nice thai green curry the other day.
Quorn is great stuff and is really low in cals!

These are great- I have them with mashed potato, veg and gravy. They are a good roast dinner substitution.

Quorn chicken dippers are nice if you fancy eating a bit of crap food with chips and beans!

These aren't Quorn but they are GREAT.

"Chicken" dippers are also good if cooked in chinese sweet and sour sauce or Kung Po sauce and served with rice. Like Chinese takeaway style batter covered sweet and sour chicken.
