Mice in my home
6 Answers
Whats the best way to stop mice infiltrating your home (apart from traps)? Think we've got some at the moment, don't want to kill them as I'm an animal lover.

You can get an ultrasonic pest repeller that frightens them away. We have one in our attic to stop the squirrels but the company we got it from does a smaller one for mice. http://www.martleyelectronics.co.uk/pestcontrol-rodent.html#mps

As Gypsy rightly says, you need to block all potential entrances. I have mice. They used to run about in the kitchen until I blocked all the gaps under the kitchen sink where the pipes come in. You can use that expanding foam that comes in a can.
To catch any already in, I used humane traps but you have to release the mice at least half a mile away or they'll find their way back, apparently!
And I have an old cat who is extremely attentive mouse-wise, for the half hour he manages to stay awake every day...
