Anyone know a a good website which contains information about events which occurred on the same days in history? Those that I have found are American in origin - I'd prefer a site which didn't tell me that John Doe of the New York Yankees hit five home runs on 13th October 1927.

saints day is St Raymond of Penafort - he was big in establishng the doctrine of transubstantiation -I think Raphael painted a cartoon of him 'doing it'

and a famous [dead[ lawyer was born in 1899, Alfred (later Lord) Denning

and honestly that's about it for the last 2000 years.

and some Japanese guy was found in the jungle in 1972 after 28 years of thinking that WW2 was still going on.
