Computer to computer connection(?) help

Hi.

Does anyone know a good "remote desktop" program that can automatically connect to the other computer in house for whatever I need to use it for without using a server or sending a remote assistance from the computer I want to connect to?

So a Computer to Computer remote desktop program which is pretty easy to setup.

VNC, just like every other remote desktop app (such as the native Remote Desktop found in Win XP and Vista), uses a server.

No it doesn't, it uses a "server application" running on the computer you want to control but it's not like, say, logmein which all goes through a central server!

VNC will work on a lan thats not connected to the internet

"Server application" is semantics for server in my book.
