present ideas

My Aunt has just come out of hospital. I usually send flowers, plants, cakes. drink or sweets/choc by post. She lives on her own and is a vegetarian (if that is relevant) She doesn't like handicrafts and is disabled, so sporting ideas are definitely out. The item would have to be sent by post and be of reliable quality.
Can you think of any ideas please?

I have just finished reading an amazing book which I thoroughly enjoyed, called "Aspirin" by Diarmund Jeffreys, so maybe your aunt would enjoy something like that. I bought it (paperback) in Tesco's for just a few pounds and can highly recommend it as an entertaining and informative read. If your aunt has just come out of hospital, she may well be not too mobile at the moment, so stuff to read might just be the answer to keep her entertained. I am also reading Andrew Marr's *History of Modern Britain* and am having trouble in putting it down, it's that good !
Thank you all for taking the time and effort to think of some splendid ideas. Unfortunately she wouldn't know what a DVD/CD is, yet alone be able to operate one. I have never known her to have a book in the house and she wouldn't trust anyone in the house to do pampering. She is a difficult person to buy for, although I would love all those suggestions if I was ill! I'll probably end up sending her a basket of fruit - at least that would do her good.
could you get a few frozen ready meals to be delivered to her to put in the freezer to keep her going for a day or two. There are a number of companies now that do this and I think its next day delivery. Wiltshire Foods is one I know an elderley neighbour of mine has regularly and says theyre great.
I am trying to encourage her to do this - a good suggestion. She has tried the Wiltshire frozen meals and says that they are tasteless. She needs something like this because she can not get to the supermarket and is reluctant to have deliveries from the supermarkets. I make her sound really awkward, but she isn't really - just very traditional and old-fashioned and set in her ways.
