I used to get bitten by mozzies, but on the advice of the practice nurse at my GP's I now take a Vitamin B tablet every day for a week before hols, and every day during hols. Haven't been bitten since! Could be coincidence, but I'd rather take the Vit B for no reason than risk the bites!
I used to get loads of mozzie bites until I discovered Avon Skin So Soft. I use the dry oil body spray and since I started using it I only get one or two bites a summer, rather than one or two an hour!
The Vitamin B tablets are supposed to work. Marmite has the same effect (eat plenty of it, don't spread it on yourself). Ice is very good at relieving the itch - you will groan at the ecstacy of the relief it'll bring!
Mosquitoes used to bite the hell out of me, when I holidayed abroad.
If a mozzie got into our room, it was always me they went for.
My solution to not getting bitten when out & about in the evening was to coat all exposed areas of skin with a generous amount of Nivea cream (it also acted as a soothing after sun cream).
My solution to not getting bit while asleep in the hotel room was to find a partner that the mozzies like more than me failing that, I would recommend a plug in mozzie killer & fly spray.
In Greece (where I normally go) I always buy citronella milk from the supermarket and plaster myself in it. Also get citronella tea lights for you room
Hi, Used to live in Thailand for a while and learnt some very good tips!
Wear light coloured clothes, mosi's cant see light colours and are attracted to dark, I soon stopped wearing my normal blue clothes!!! :)
Vit B definately works & marmite but vit b's better for them.
Citronella candles are worth a go to, but the light clothes thing really does work and you can see them if their flying around your body due to the light colours, easy swatting fodder :)
I sympathise with you, as I am always bitten by mosquitos, even when I use those plug-in repellants. I don't know about blood types, but where I come from, a favourite old wives' tale is that mosquitos go for people with sweet blood!!!!!! So who knows, there may be some connection after all.
I always get bitten even sometimes in the UK going to spain in a week!
have been taking odourless garlic tablets and vitamin B1 tablets recommended bought avon skin so soft and have got citronella oil which you can get from holland and barrett you put this on and night mixed with after sun don't use it mixed with the suncream or you'll fry!
hoping nothing will bite me
good luck!
