However a bit more help would be hugely appreciated. Or from anyone else.You mention drainage. One part of the lawn is all flat, and other parts are undulating. On the undulating parts I can appreciate that a build up of water underground occurs.However I`m not sure whether the flat bit of the lawn holds "much water". Therefore with regards to drainage - how should I go about this. I do not want to run into costs oif "inserting" a drainage system !!!. Thanks for your tip re shade - but most of the lawn does not have trees hanging over so therefore does not get shade.

Having read up a tiny amount - I think , over the past , the previous owners just "mowed" and "mowed" and have not necessarily fed the lawn so I`m probably suffering due to this.

Once Spring has arrived what should be the steps that I need to follow ? I have read about putting lime on the lawn but I can`t seem to find any tips on advising how much lime (to kill the moss) tp put on in say a square yard.
