I had the same problem and tried everything before discovering the only real effective remedy. Sprinkle Bicarbonate of soda liberally over the stain and surrounding areas. Leave overnight and hoover clean the next morning. It sounds odd and I don't know who discovered the solution but it really does work!

hi there thanks and i will try it and let you know but i think it is under the carpet and into one of the channels in the car
Rather you than me then :o( At least my problem was with the rear seat and that was bad enough, I wish you all the luck in the world but you might be lucky.
Years ago my dearest darling daughter chucked up in her kiddie seat in the back. It went everywhere & the awful smell lingered. I kept a small jar of Neutradol (Poundland) in the car for about a month & that eventually sorted it.
You can hire a carpet vac from you local dry cleaners for about 10. It works on upholstery too.

I have a Vax 3-in-1 vacuum cleaner for times like this. It works wonders on carpets and matresses that have had the misfortune to have red wine or coffee spilled on them. Just spray the area with soapy cold water (+some detergent to kill the bacteria) and suck it up with the small upholstery head.
