my son is being charged with racial abuse at a football match apparantly one steward reported it to the police, he said that he did not say what the steward said he said but he is still being charged will this stand up in court my sons word against the stewards if there is no other evidence ?

If they believe the evidence of the steward is strong enough they will authorise the charge and it will be for your son to defend that charge in court.
