What are the scabs on my cat?

I have searched her fur for fleas and cannot see any ( I have treated her for them though just in case). She has lots of little scabs on her belly and particularly under her front legs (armpit area). She has a bald patch under her leg aswell where she has either licked or bitten the fur off. She is very agitated and jumpy but it only seems to have happened today. I will be taking her to the vets but I wondered if any of you had any clues first Thanks

i have the same problem my cat smokey has lots of scabs on her back and belly she is always bitting her fur and scratting i have given her flea treatment twice and wormed her. some one told me it could be mites or a alergic reaction she is also very jumpy very nervous cat didnt know if it was a symptom of thet like humans can have a skin reacton when there nervous?

I have taken her to the vets since my original question. It is feline Eczema.

Sounds like my lad.hes got `itchy skin` and has a steroid injection every 3/4 mths in the summer,
