I am due to go into hospital in a few weeks to have a varicose vein 'stripped' out of my leg. I know this is a fairly routine operation but I am apprehensive and concerned about it. Has anyone had experience of this that they can share with me.?

Had mine done about 20 years ago. No problems at all. Bandaged leg for about 10 days and told not to stand too long, have to keep the circulation going. Bandage removed and nice, vein free legs.

You will be fine, i had mines done years ago, sadly they have come back even worse, its just a minor op,you will wear a pressure stocking and have aftercare no probs!!!
I had mine 'stripped' about fifteen years ago. To be honest, I found it uncomfortable and had trouble putting my heel down on the floor. This problem lasted about a week or so.

yes, i have heard that they can come back and ive been putting off having it done, but its getting worse so I think its better to go for it and just get it over with.
