I have 18 seedlings growing on in individual compartments in a tray (ready plant size). They are about 2" tall. It is too early to plant out. What is my best move now? Many thanks.
I would leave them for another couple of weeks and hope the hard frosts have gone. If hard frost are suspected, cover with fleece. Plant in a sunny position with good supports for them to climb up.
Yes, I would wait for another two or three weeks at least. Having said that, the seeds of these plants seem to be quite hardy if they're grown in a sunny spot. . I let them drop where they fall, they over-winter and new seedlings start appearing around the end of April.. However, as you've nurtured them thus far, I'd keep them protected a little longer.
