I have recently had thrush which did make sex uncomfortable and was prescribed both antibiotics and a pessary. However, since then sex has become extremely uncomfortable and at times very painful. I think i can rule any s.t.i out as my boyfriend is my first partner and we always use protection. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
have you tried KY jelly or even butter? It might be because you are to dry doen there. The current girl I am sleeping with is a bit dry too. we just use spit like they do in porn films though :) but i will buy some ky jelly as having to stop to spit puts you off a bit.
One presumes that the thrush has settled completely.
Then many things can cause painful intercourse (dyspareunia) so I would suggest that you see your GP as a gynaecological referall might be indicated.
I would go back to your GP as thrush can be resistant to some antibiotics. If poss -lay off the sex until its cleared or use a condom as you may be passing it to you partner and then he passes it back to you thus you wont ever get rid of it.I speak from experience.
Its really painful -thats why you must abstain or as i said use protection until you are both clear -he probably has it as well from you -its a vicious cycle.
My daughter went to her GP because of painful intercourse and an examination found she had an erosion just inside her. When the GP touched this, it bled,so she had a swab taken and has an appointment with the gynaecologist on Monday.
If you are suffering, see your GP.
My gp once gave me something for thrush (I just described the symptoms) when infact I had an infection and the medication he gave me didn't work no wonder it wasn't the correct one.
Go back to him and ask him to check no point in being in pain
