Does anybody have any tips how I can stop my newborn baby being constipated? He is bottle-feeding (on SMA). Please help!

how old is your baby?

Our baby is one week old. Poos probably once every two days, and it's like dry, hard pellets. You can see his little face straining when he's trying to have a poo.
Seems normal to me, particularly with a Formula fed baby.

No to worry.
are you making bottles correctly?

all babies strain to poo, they go all sorts of shades of red and purple even for the sloppiest of nappies.

My midwife did recommend that if i thought little CRX was a bit bunged up that i use one carton of the premixed milk (you can get single cartons of the SMAs) as there was a slightly different formula that seemed to loosen the bowels.

If your baby is pooing every other day then i wouldnt be too concerned, but mention it to your midwife / health visitor next time you see them.

Hi wasred I had a baby that got constipated so he gave him boiled water to drink that helped him give that a try just like us they too need to drink plenty of water
