my car starts when it wants to and not when i want it to,.when it runs, its perfect..even after a long trip.but once i turn the engine off,it wont restart.a m8 said it was the fuel pump relay,so i got a new one and the same thing happens still. any ideas anyone? the car is a daewoo nexia, gsxi, 16v.
starter turns the engine over..starts when left alone for a while..doesn't mis-fire once running.no problems while its running, but once stopped, wont start for a while.
If there is an electric fuel pump you should be able to hear it working as soon as you turn the key, then there should be enough fuel in the system to start the engine.
If there is no noise and or the fuel pump relay is not working properly there would be no fuel getting through.
The chances are it is the crank angle sensor, 9 times out of 10 that's what it is, go to a local garage and get it put on a diagnostic machine just to be sure!
