MM & KM Links April 2009 [Week 4]
59 Answers
We are now approaching Week 4 in the reign of Baron Brian of Norn Iron. This will be his last week and we all have eyes on several entrants who could win the glory and be permitted to set the MM Links throughout the month of May. Please remember that this game has been on-going for well over two years now and in that time we have had over 25 different champion/setters. Consequently, when choosing the next MM Champion, I am looking for a reasonable compromise between "predictive skills" and "fresh blood".

Reg and I have been going to a lot of Stockport's home games this year...they have been really entertaining...unfortunately they have financial problems.
I just love the atmosphere at the ground...it is like going to a football match before money and players took over!!

Pauline, my grandson goes to Dartford's home matches. It has a good atmosphere and when it opened a couple of years ago it came second for new build stadiums, after the Emirates but in front of Wembley as it was built on time and within budget and all the rainwater collected on the roof is filtered and recycled for the WC's. At least the Darts are at home again, having lost their previous ground for housing about 18 years ago and sharing grounds in Kent and Essex in the meantime.
Yes Ont, I've been a couple of times as we have a friend living in St. John's. We did the usual Eastern Canada tour of Toronto- Montreal-Quebec-Ottawa-Toronto for a week, then on to St. John's for another week. A couple of years later we went straight to St. John's to celebrate our friends 90th birthday. We should really come over again this year to Manitoba, as my only living aunt will be 100 in September, but haven't decided yet whether to or not.
Ont, yes I would recommend it. The Avalon Peninsular is a bit bleak, Similar to Scotland, which is probably why there are still a lot of Scots or Scottish descendants living there. The Newfies are very friendly people. There is not a great deal to do in St. John's, although I have played golf on some good courses in the area, but the seafood is excellent and there are still some charming settlements around. There is also a French influence to the west coast of the island. If you're there at the right time, icebergs can be seen off the St. John's and the east coast.
Goodnight Ont. I'll go to bed after I try to do a few more clues in Pauline's Dragonfly quiz. Good luck with the links later.
