We had just this with one of our cats this week.. not walking up and down the stairs properly, and staying away from us.
Like Wendilla said, she may have been knocked by a car. However what was wrong with elvis, was an abcess on his shoulder that was making him feel sore and poorly. its been drained and washed through, with antibiotics and anti inflammatory shots too, and he was much better straight away.
Either way, it needs checking out by a vet. Sorry, nothing else to suggest.

If you cat is very active and always jumping she could have injured herself, pulled or strained something or other. I understand it is not always possible to get veterinary help. Let her rest, hopefully she is still eating and drinking. Do nt attempt to give her painkillers or any other such human medication as they can have disasterous effects on cats. Hopefully she will pick up soon - best to get her checked out anyway asap.

Thank you very much for your help. I manage to get the vet to check on her tomorrow at pets @ home. She is a kitten, 14 weeks old, very acctive and I believe she fel down from the scratch post. I have to feed her in her mouth and same for drinking.. the good thing is that she eats. I'll have to wait until tomorrow anyway. Thank you
