MM Links Solutions May 2009 [Week 3]

This third week in the reign of The Serene Stephanie found points just as difficult to find as in previous weeks. Once again we were entertained to an interesting preamble which introduced the theme of The Great Race with link words:

Rain FOREST
Drop ANCHOR
Down POUR
TICKET Window

These links suggested to me a blend of the Tropics and Travel. But how did the punters do?

After last year�s wet Summer, we all know about RAIN FORESTS and the very first entrant roslyn251254 made her mark ~ followed within the required two minutes by Dustybun & Strix. All three were therefore eligible for TWO POINTS. In the midst of this action, centrino quietly began to DROP ANCHOR and landed another TWO POINTS.


These two hits continued to score isolated points until the Canadians opened their account. Once again it was Mrs Ont-ice who queued at the TICKET WINDOW and demanded her bonus points. Regulars at MM Links will know that this degree of success is unprecedented from our Commonwealth cousins! Excellent work, Joanna!

However, there was better to come, since within the hour SHAZZA spotted the very last link, DOWN POUR and paired it off with a belated �Rain Forest� to score for THREE POINTS and so qualify for the coveted title of HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK!

*** Let the people cheer and shout �Encore� ***

Amidst the run of single pointers, a memorable double hit was scored by ex-champion and odist extraordinaire, paulineward. Also worthy of mention was twix123 who scored in the closing minutes with the unlikely �Ticket Window�. Well done to all those who managed to score!

Well done to all you scorers - I'm not on Steff's wavelength at all. Still I may not be able to get on here next week. I'm not sure yet. Off to London again as my grandson is being baptised next Sunday.

I always said it was a cultural thing. We seem to be more in tune with our Ozzie cousin that all our other cousins in the UK.
BUT having said that, there are another two weeks to go and with our luck they'll all become cousins thrice removed.
