Help with virus!!!

Hi there,
I have a virus in my sony viao laptop...
Will going into systems restore, help
If so, its not turned on.... I'm not very good with all the technical stuff so could someone help.
ps I have had to boot it up in safe mode, but theres NO sound how do i fix that!!!!!!

First:
How do you know you have a virus?

System restore will not remove a virus.

As rojash says, what makes you think you have a virus.

Viruses are fairly rare nowadays, if your laptop is infected it may be from spyware or malware.

If you have an anti virus program installed then update it and run it. If you DONT have an anti virus installed then there are free ones like Avast or AVG.

To check for spyware and malware download and run malwarebytes (there are other spyware programs as well).
