Can anyone tell me anything about a "suling" beiieved to be a unit of currency or a method of valuation in or about the 11 Century.

Could it be 'shilling' spelled badly? Not finding anything for suling other than bamboo flutes.

it refers to land values or level of taxation applied to the land owned by edward the confessor, and often referred to in the domesday book.

one suling = approximately 200 acres.

one suling of land could be valued at one hundred shillings as part of that manor.

you also had carucates, virgates, bovates, nooks, and farundells.
