Yes all computers do have a graphics card, otherwise you'd have nothing to plug the monitor into!
Belarc advisor will tell you all you need to know about your computer, including info about your graphics card.

Thank you both for your replies. My card has 1913MB,is that a small amount as graphic cards go?I like to do a lot of photo editing,is that enough,if not what would you suggest and is it possible to upgrade?More importantly is it a "home" job? Thanks
"My card has 1913MB"

I very much doubt that - that's a huge (and weird) number

Hi there Rojash.it's been a long time.I'm not quite sure what you are doubting! Thanks for the reply.
Agree, 1913MB would be a huge amount of ram for a graphics card!

run dxdiag again and post all the information under the device section when you click on the display tab.

I've opened up to the device page but in my ignorance I don't seem able to transfer the info to the AB page I've tried copy & paste but it won't work.If someone could explain the hyperlink method in simple terms I would be grateful. Thanks
The figure you posted will include "shared" RAM. Some graphics cards can borrow "unused" memory from the main computer. This can be handy, but it's better to have the memory built in to the card. My card, for instance, has 256MB on board, but is currently showing that it has 1007MB available to use.

Just post the name of the card, possibly something along the lines of "NVIDIA GeForce xxxx xx" and someone should be able to tell you its native capacity.

It's the line above that lot (name) that will be of most use. Are you sure it's not ATI, by the way?

Sapphire Radeon HD4350 512MB PCI-Express Graphics Card
I saw this one on the net,if it's the same as mine at 512MB,is that good????
There seem to be a few variations on the card, but the most common (and the one that I can see as a likely one for Medion to fit as standard) is 256MB. If you have the model of your computer, you could try Googling it to see what is fitted.

As for being any good, a hardcore gamer/video editing person would laugh at it but for most normal use I would say it's fine. I'm not heavily into games, but the 2 newest games I have - Bioshock and Assassin's Creed - ran fairly well on my machine. I think I had to turn down a couple of the settings on "Creed", but it still looked pretty good to me. I do a bit more than what I assume to be the average amount of video editing and haven't had any problems there either. Photo-wise, I also do a fair bit (but not to professional "Photoshop" standard) and haven't encountered problems. (I too have a Medion machine).

Unless you're having difficulties with what you have, I'd stick with it. Graphics cards are easy enough to replace if you do decide you need to upgrade at a later date.
