Internet Connection Problem

Can anyone help please? We are having a problem connecting to the internet on our main computer.
It brings up Internet Explorer cannot show this page.
Diagnosis says it could be the Live OneCare Firewall but the only settings you can change are on and off. (Tried it turned off – still does not work)
The diagnosis for the internet connection is that it is working.
We can connect to the internet with our laptop.
The problem seem to start when I uninstalled Kaspersky 2010 internet security trial (which slowed the computer right down).
Not too techy anwers please - not computer savvy enough!

only use 1 firewall.......WINDOWS,,,,why have 2 programs doin the same job?try stoppin windows firewall which is on control panel,then security center......then try connect 2 net,then turn on windows firewall back on,this is defo firewall prob,dont bother with these free trials just use windows firewall and you should have no probs,its a free stuff on the net which causes more viruses or boot probs than anything
