I daresay that's something they may keep in the arsenal - but I did hear that the Israeli 'sky marshals' carry low velocity bullets that are less likely to pierce the cabin skin but will still kill/disable a hijacker.
Why don't they just spend the money improving airport security? Just a thought...
Airport security is as strong as the weakest link. Some countries airports, for example in Africa, have trouble organising incoming aircraft with fuel & oxygen never mind providing adequate security
My theory is simple but brilliant (I think!). No hand luggage on aircraft - then noone would be able to smuggle weapons etc. on board. Or at least it would be very difficult.
Tasers need to make contact with nerves, therefore make skin or subskin contact. They are quite simple to protect against, and tend to be single shot weapons or slow to fire multiple shots. They are also less accurate. So they're not used because they probably wouldn't work against the intended target(s).
Love to know who's beind this idea coz I was discussing this a year ago with a man who trains the special forces.

If you're referring to my question GSteve, I have no special connection. Just another Brit who watches alot of US TV and the idea made sense to me.
