So you think you can dance! Did anyone get this show! I enjoy reality shows but this one didn't get me excited, I did watch till the end but still didn't care. Love American Idol! What do you love or hate!

I do enjoy the 'talent' shows but only the audition stages - sad i know!
I find the idea of the 'Pop Star To Opera Star' format, or celebs cooking, or sharing their houses or swapping their wives to be really odd.
It's an extention of the odd notion that an actor can / should be able to - sing / act.
Why?
No-one would expect a high court judge to be a landcape gardener or a trapeze artist to make a superlative sculptor.
It just seems an odd idea that we watch, and judge people doing things other than that for which they are famous, and then judge them as if we have any meaningful criteria with which to form that judgement.
The famous quote Dr. Johnson used about women preaching applies here -
"... it is like a dog walking on its hind legs. It is not that it is done badly, rather that one is surprised to see it done at all."
