printer won't print

I have an EPSON STYLUS DX8450 and it wont print anything in black txt, it will print all other colcurs , all the inks are new and full. I can't print from word/excel or emails, pages come out blank, if i change the colour to blue say it will print ok ? any ideas.

HP all-in-one not printing magenta.

Unfamiliar with the printer but off the top of my head: is it a blocked black ink jet ?
Does the printer have a clean facility on it you can try ?
Are you using the right print driver ?

Not replaced the black ink with invisible ink have you ? :-)
