Hi guys we are off to Turket the end of may and was wondering when and where to get our money exchanged i:e here or over there.

We don't change money before we go anywhere, we draw it out of the hole in the wall at the airport when we arrive. If you bank with someone like Nationwide they don't charge you for foreign withdrawals (but many other banks do). Saves carrying wads of money about, or having to cast about for the best place to change travellers cheques.
