Father -Daughter Trip

Me and My Dad are looking for somewhere to get away for the day. But i dont know where to go. We both work together on vechiles and we just want to get away from work and family. I need some where around North Carolina. I am a teenager and my father is in his mid forties. We both like working on cars but want to get away from cars and anything with engines. Can some one plz help me find a place to go.

The best I can suggest is perhaps to go to Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia - easily achievable in a day, I would think. I have actually been there and while it was interesting to me (a mere foreigner) I would think that unless you have been there it would be considerably more interesting to US citizens. The closest you get to powered vehicles in the museum town is the workshop that makes (to this day) horesdrawn carriages. It is certainly a very quiet place.
