Can anyone tell me how you request a postal vote? my daughter wants one as she is away at uni but registered at home. Do I have to wait until the polling cards arrive?
I would suggest you contact your local Electoral Registration Officer.
He/She will be able to advise you and help you to do this for your daughter.
Dont leave it too long though! They will be busy now we know when the Election is.
My husband applied for a postal vote. They 'allowed' him to have one and have sent a letter saying that his postal vote will be sent to our address. The reason he wanted a postal vote is that he is based in Aldershot in the army and only come home once a month! So why don't the send the postal vote to him in Aldershot then?
I am a postal voter and have received a letter from the Electoral Registration Officer telling me that my postal voting papers will be sent to me 'around the 27th April 2010'. I am also given a number to telephone if the papers have not arrived by 29th April.
