Hi rojash,thanks to you gmail notifier now working, however I would like an audible warning,
I have been into control panel > sounds > new mail in, highlighted new mail in, indicated sound required clicked ok, result nil, is there something I'm missing ? Ron.

The method you'ev used won't work, as you are not actually receiving the e-mails.
However, if you access the gmail notifier settings in the way I described previously, you'll find an option in there: "Play a sound". You'll need to specify a .wav file to be played.
