do you find that you have more contact with your inlaws as a wife than your hubby, their son does? i do! hes dreadful, never wants me to hand him the phone and ignores the phone if their number comes up.

Can't say I do - my MIL is the only inlaw still alive on both side, and we have weekly contact by phone (she lives a long way away).

Yup! I have an absolutely lovely daughter in law. But our son appears to go out of his way to avoid us. Not really sure why. We clean his (their) house on a regular basis, following instructions (son's) as to what need's doing. D-i-l txt's us after telling us how much we're appreciated and how grateful they both are for our efforts. We get birthday cards, anniversary cards, father's day cards.... all sorted and signed in both their names by his wife. Understand he's busy but, after all, we're his mum and dad. If it wasn't for our d-i-l not sure that we'd have any communication with him at all.
