Do you stay with someone (dating) even though you know, because they've confessed to you, that the relationship won't go anywhere?

i.e. eventually lead to marriage in the future

And secondly, do you stay with someone even though you both know they don't feel the same way about you that you do about them?

A friend of mine went through hell with a long term boyfriend who suddenly confessed he would never marry her (he would marry someone one day just not her)  (And I have been there myself but so long ago, it's not relevant).  In the end she disentangled herself slowly and it came as a huge shock to him when she dumped this guy.

There is a great quote; 'Women may be able to fake orgasms but men can fake whole relationships'.

You deserve better than being someone's second best.  You are a great catch.  If he can't see that, then he is not right for you and you have been given a get out clause from a relationship that will end up making you unhappy long term.  Good luck.
