Being permanently single

Why is it that people see being single as the lull between relationships? Is there anyone out there who is genuinely content being single, and honestly isn't looking to pair up?

I turned down yet another chance of marital bliss about 8 years ago......lovely man but a bit set in his ways. My men friends are just that, friends, who are good company if you are going out to dinner, or the theatre etc. If they or me decided to pounce we'd all run a mile. I genuinely have no need for day to day company, and love being able to do what I want, when I want.

Hello everyone, Im single, been single over a year now, I do miss the closeness and intimacy with a guy though, Im not very good on my own really, I am happy and independent and solvent but just 'miss' someone to share life with I suppose, I have bountiful male friends and acquaintences who would want more from me than I can give - mainly because I dont 'fancy' anyone lately lol, perhaps I am too fussy....who knows oh and definitely miss the sex however Im not one for having a 'fcuk buddy' as one of my friends once advised ! Us ladies may have 'needs' but there are limits.
