Am I more likely to be accepted for a credit card if I have a large salary and/or a lot of savings?

If you have no credit record when they check you out, then you may find you can only get a card from some of the higher-interest lenders like Capital One. You can however ask Experian or another credit agency yourself for a credit report, I think it still costs about £3 - then you can correct any errors etc before the credit card company look at the report.

you can have all the money in the world if your payment history is poor or you have late payments i doubt very much you would get one! salary isnt an issue either really it all lies on what is on your credit report....
Having said that there will be many people who have been left in a financial mess with the recession and job loss's! so i think a majority of the population would struggle to get a credit card or loan
