Basically we had a new kitchen installed about 3.5 years ago.... in the last 4 months we have noticed damp patches on the ceiling and what looks like some kind of mould - when we have investigated it looks like water has been seeping out past the shower glass door and under the floor boards.... we will need the bathroom floor fixing as well as the kitchen ceiling ... are we covered as I am well aware that insurance companies do not like to cover for anything. (our cover is both accidental and normal buildings & contents)

This is Exactly the type of thing you have insurance for.
probably but read your policy very carefully.
Almost certainly you will be covered especially if you have accidental damage. Just contact the insurance company and they'll send around someone to investigate the claim. No problems :-)
Buildings insurance should cover the cost of trace and access to establish the cause of the leak. It should also pay to repair the damage caused by the leak less your policy excess. it will not pay to repair whatever it is that is leaking

thanks guys - can you believe I am covered for absolutely EVERYTHING - apart from the teeny tiny disclosure that says will not cover poorly fitted or leaking showers !
