Not particularly, my parents are respectively the right distance away from me but I'd rather my sisters were much closer... Some of my cousins/aunts/uncles could do with not living in the arse end of no where too.

I agree, the demands put on you by family living close are unreal, another country sounds good to me.

I haven't seen my family for over 30 years (my choice) but am envious of friends who have very close families.
I don't miss my family but I do miss family life.

When I was looking for my retirement home it was suggested I either move to be near my sister or my daughter. I now live a 7 minute drive from the daughter, but would never turn up unannounced or uninvited.......she's always bloody coming round to mine!

i have my boyfriends family all within a few miles and do we see them. nope. only if we go to them. so it wouldn't make much difference if they lived a million miles away, would just be less folk to visit and save a lot of upset that they don't make an effort with us or thier neice/nephew, grandson etc

at least if they were far away they might make the effort to get up one day and say, lets go visit them rather than us sitting watching them drive into the street, do their visiting then leave!!!

Love all of mine!......find it a bit sad that most of them are a long way away!..........but I go see them whenever I can!..............Love them all very much!..................
