I downloaded some photographs onto a CD. Now I cannot find anything on the CD and space available is 0 mb and space used is 0mb - any ideas? Thanks in anticipation.
I think Wak was just asking if the photos had actually been burned onto a CD. The OP's statement, ''I downloaded some photographs onto a CD'', is misleading.
HC4361, If you don't have a program similar to Nero or CD BurnerXP to control your CD writer, how would you put digital photos on to a blank CD with Windows XP????
Wak I would open my Pictures Library, select the photos I want to burn, and click 'burn to cd' in the side panel.
If I wanted to burn a wide selection of photos, I would create a new folder, move the photos to that, open the new photos, select all, and click 'burn to cd' in the left hand side panel.
Any computer that comes with a cd writer comes with the ability to write to it.
I stand corrected, HD. Unfortunately, my 10 year old Desk top didn't come with DVD and CD writers until I installed them and they both came with programs similar to Nero.
Again, unfortunately, Windows wasn't as clever or as versatile then as the newer programs apparently are.
We live and learn!
My first computer didn't even had a hard drive, just huge floppy disks. My first Windows pc certainly was not 'plug and play' and the hard drive had to be parked before turning the pc off.
Windows XP couldn't burn dvds, but Vista and Windows 7 can.
It would be long before a blu ray burner is standard, and no doubt 3d monitors.
I'm just waiting for a pc that will cook my meals, clean my house and do my job - while looking after the kids. 2020 maybe?
Hi HD, I've also kept up with the times but not as FULLY as maybe I should have done.
I started with the Sinclair Spectrum about 1982 which recorded on to a music cassette, Then progressed to a Commodore 40 with 2 x 5¼" floppies that only used DOS for loading, etc. I bought my last tower desk top 10 years ago with Win98 and then added Win XP, more Ram, bigger Hard Drive and writers. This is quite adequate and does everything that I want but obviously hasn't got the bells and whistles of the newer Window systems. Laptops seem to be the preference these days but quite a few of those often seem to have p0r4o9ble3ms, do9n't5 t5he3y6???
Take care.
Wak.
