Just had facebook contact from WDYTYA US toi say the 2nd series launches shortly, and apparently they have Kim Cattrall on there. She did the UK version last season, I wonder if they are doing a different version?

Hi there dotty,
I looked at several websites for her and they all only mention the UK version.
I guess because she is well known in the US, and has one of the more interesting stories they thought they would give it a whirl on US TV?
Much like we have had some(or all?) of the US WDYTYA programmes here.
If it is an new version please let me know,I would be interested.

I'm not sure whether they are going to use the same film material (bearing in mind it's a different production company in the US, Lisa Kudrow's ) but I think they covered quite alot of her ancestry already. Unless they are looking at another side maybe, just as long as they don't try to justify sending her into the Gold fields and then giving her a detailed letter sent by her Gt Gt Gt grandfather that gives a complete family history, like they did with SJP, with her, i think they already had the letter and based the show and the research around it.

Not sure how interested a US audience would be in an hour of man-bashing whilst uncovering the bigamous lifestyle of her wayward grandfather, so hopefully the US episode will focus on other strands of KC's family history.

I love that programme, everyone has a skeleton in their cupboard .. hi dotty, you helped me with my Family Shrub a while ago, don't know if you remember. I found out an awful lot, but then it went back to great great grandparents/immigrants from Russia and Poland so i couldn't get any further back. I am still emailing relatives I didn't know I had, in fact I am meeting up with some in a couple of weeks time, for the first time !
