Me and my girlfriend were told today at the five month scan that our baby is 60% a girl, even though we wanted a boy?

Apart from the very obvious, what would you draw from this?

But at the end of the day, I'm still very excited about having a little girl. We're so lucky really as there are good people out there who would kill for a baby.

They do tell you in Bucks - that's where I live :-)
Why did you want a boy? A healthy baby is more important, you are so blessed, enjoy your pregnancy and the best of luck.
Hi ljdksa, oh, maybe things have changed. When I had the first three (Stoke Mandeville hospital) they didn't tell you.

Thanks, everyone. x
Sherrard, the do tell you the sex of the baby in Stoke Mandeville. 5 of my 8 nephews and nieces were born there and the parents were told the sex with all of them (although it wasn't always right).

However, a few years ago I worked with a guy of Indian appearance. When his wife was pregnant they wouldn't tell them the sex of the baby because there are concerns about what some cultures may do when they know they are having a girl. This was despite the fact he is as English as me and his wife is white.
