my girlfriend slipped at work and broke her finger in two places. The thing is she works for me!!I think she should claim on a no win no fee basis, but my other two family directors think that ,that will be detrimental to the business and push up insurance costs. Please the girlfriend or keep the family happy?

Then watch the premiums go up by way more than the amount claimed. All in all its best to offer her a cash sum to settle or get sensible - buy her a bunch of flowers and put right the problem that cause her the injury in the beginning.

any costs for a solicitor would be met by the insurance compnay, not the person making the claim.
And to be honest, if this is the only claim you have had on your EL cover, chances are premium will not rise by that much, not by £1 or £2,000 anyway - which is what she will probably get as a payout.
Make sure it is well documented - if you ever split up she will probs claim! and she has up to 5/7 years to claim - cant remember which at the mo
